The carpets went well again this year, with my Rockhampton jaguar and one of my jungle carpet females both producing good quality clutches. The majority of the offsrping have now gone to new homes, although five high quality jags that I originally held back are now on the 'Available' list.
I had limited success with my diamonds this year, with a clutch being produced, albeit, infertile. We're getting there! My males will be a bit older and wiser next year and with a slight reduction in the temperatures at cooling time, I'm hoping for a bit more luck.
Nothing happened with either the Moluccans or Ringed this year. The Moluccans showed absolutely no signs of breeding activity, whilst the Ringeds were locked up a couple of times, without actually producing. I'll be introducing a second male into the Ringed breeding trials next year, which might make things more exciting!
The Royals are a bit behind the game this year, quite possibly because of the delayed cooling period. We're only now seeing ovulations and a couple of pre-lay sheds. We should have eight or nine royal clutches, based on what I've seen so far. If you're interested in pastels, super pastels, g-stripes, black pastels, lessers, pinstripes and, of course, normals, then by all means get in touch and I'll let you know when things to start to hatch in August and September. I may also let a couple of double or even treble co-doms go, depending on the hatch rates.
Thanks
