| Breeding update |

The breeding season is well underway now. At the moment, I've got jaguar, coastal and jungle carpet eggs in the incubator.
On the royal front, a number of my females have ovulated and are approaching their pre-lay shed. Depending on the odds, with any luck, it looks like we'll have a combination of lessers, pinstripes, pastels, super pastels, genetic stripes and normals. I'm still waiting on some activity with my albinos, but they could well have decided to have a year off in 2009!
The female ringed has now ovulated and is approaching a pre-lay shed. Time will tell whether we manage to get a fertile clutch this year.
My diamonds and moluccans have been quiet this year, with little activity. The diamonds have been locked up a couple of times, but nothing more than that.
As we stand, I think we're going to be looking at total of eight clutches this year, but if anything does arise from the diamonds, I may need to create a bit more space in the incubator. Once the carpets start to hatch, I'll update the available animals list. Regards Rob |
