Halmahera Python(Morelia tracyae)
A rarely kept snake, which falls into the scrub python category. At the time of writing, the Halmahera python has not been bred in captivity, although, I suspect it won't be long before some success is reported.
My Halmaheras are stunning and alert pythons, with a nervous disposition. They can be easily stressed and I certainly do not consider them pet snakes. They require very secure surroundings in captivity, which, if not provided, will frequently result in fasting periods.
As is the case with my Moluccans, my Tracyae are still too young to attempt breeding trials and are kept in hot and steamy conditions, in an attempt to replicate their natural habitat.
I no longer keep Tracyae, but if any photos are required of this species, please feel free to contact me.
